Red Sea Shipping Agency Co. was established in 1955 and in the same year became agents for B&I, a prominent shipping line; subsequently renamed as P&O General Cargo Division. In 1992 the reputable P&O Containers decided to enter the market, and Red Sea Shipping Agency helped to build the image of P&O locally. P&O decided to have direct calls to Aqaba in 1997.

Red Sea Shipping Agency today is one of the most outstanding shipping companies in Jordan, providing a comprehensive range of agency services. It also developed a computer network between its offices, which offers solutions for business operations. Being the agents of P&O Nedlloyd, which is a global carrier with direct sailings from Europe, and excellent transit time from USA, Far East and Europe, as well as its activities as correspondents of P&I Clubs such as UK P&I Club, British Marine.
